Dallas Cowboys cornerback Trevon Diggs suffered a season-ending torn ACL in his left knee during practice.

The injury occurred during a one-on-one practice session and was confirmed after an MRI revealed the tear.

Diggs, a key player on the NFL's top-ranked defense, has 18 interceptions since entering the league in 2020, tying for the most with J.C. Jackson.

Cowboys Pro Bowl center Tyler Biadasz also sustained a hamstring injury during practice but is expected to recover.

Micah Parsons, a star edge rusher, expressed his reaction to the Diggs injury on social media.

So far this season, Diggs has been an exceptional defender, allowing only three catches for 31 yards on eight targets with a 9.9 passer rating.

Diggs recently signed a lucrative five-year, $97 million contract extension with the Cowboys.

In Diggs' absence, DaRon Bland may shift to outside cornerback, alongside Stephon Gilmore, acquired in an offseason trade.

Jourdan Lewis, who returned from a foot injury last week, will resume his slot role.

The Cowboys also have Noah Igbinoghene and rookie Eric Scott at cornerback, while Nahshon Wright is on injured reserve and eligible to return in Week 5.
