San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk is sidelined for Thursday's game against the New York Giants due to a shoulder injury.

Aiyuk had been questionable for the matchup, but his shoulder injury has rendered him inactive.

In response, the 49ers have elevated receiver Chris Conley from the practice squad for the game.

Aiyuk sustained the injury during the previous Sunday's game against the Los Angeles Rams, where he managed three catches for 43 yards.

Aiyuk has been a standout performer this season, leading the 49ers with 172 receiving yards and two touchdowns in two games, tying with Deebo Samuel for receptions.

He earned NFC Offensive Player of the Week honors after an outstanding Week 1 performance with eight receptions, 129 yards, and two touchdowns against the Pittsburgh Steelers.

The 49ers, now back at home for Week 3, will be without Aiyuk and cornerback Ambry Thomas, who also suffered an injury during the Rams game.

GM Lynch had previously indicated that both players game-time decisions, listed as questionable due to short turnaround for Thursday night game.
