The Carolina Panthers address their needs by signing versatile player Alex Cook, who can contribute at both receiver and safety positions.

Alex Cook, originally from Sacramento, transitioned from a receiver to a safety during his college career at the University of Washington.

Cook's collegiate stats include 139 total tackles, 4.5 tackles for loss, three passes defensed, and an interception, earning him All-Pac-12 Second Team recognition.

Standing at 6-foot-1 and weighing 220 pounds, Cook began his NFL journey as an undrafted free agent with the New York Giants.

The Panthers made the move to acquire Cook as they were missing both of their starting safeties, Vonn Bell and Xavier Woods, in a recent game against the Miami Dolphins.

Alex Cook's addition as the 53rd player on the Panthers' roster brings valuable depth to a team in need of reinforcement at key positions.
