Las Vegas Raiders quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo was hospitalized due to a back injury during a 21-17 victory over the New England Patriots.

Initially doubtful to return after the injury, Garoppolo was quickly ruled out, with Brian Hoyer taking over as quarterback.

Raiders head coach Josh McDaniels confirmed that Garoppolo had been transported to a local hospital for tests, but had no further updates on his condition.

Garoppolo's frustration on the sideline was evident after a field goal drive, leading to discussions with trainers before walking to the locker room.

Garoppolo left the game with the Raiders in the lead at 13-3, having completed 14-of-22 passes for 162 yards, one touchdown to Jakobi Meyers, and an interception in the first half.

The quarterback's abrupt departure left the game's outcome uncertain, with fans and analysts awaiting further details on the extent of his injury.
