Cleveland Browns' Strategic Choices: Evaluating Key Positions for 2023 Season

Cleveland Browns GM Andrew Berry remains consistently active, engaging in NFL free agency, trades, contracts, and roster adjustments.

In the 2023 offseason, the Browns fortified their defense and added valuable backups through free agency and the NFL draft.

Special teams coverage units were also strengthened with new additions during the offseason.

Despite limited NFL draft opportunities, Berry secured promising wide receivers Elijah Moore and Cedric Tillman.

Remarkably, the Browns did not acquire noteworthy running backs, maintained an ailing linebacking group, and lacked competition for kicker Cade York

Lingering concerns about kicker Cade York's performance persist, accompanied by injuries to key players like Jerome Ford, Anthony Walker Jr., and Sione Takitaki.

Berry's approach challenges conventional NFL valuation, as he invests in positions like running back, linebacker, and kicker despite their diminished significance.

However, the Browns might face consequences in 2023 due to the lack of depth at running back and linebacker and the unchallenged kicker situation.

Despite uncertainties, the Browns have the opportunity to address concerns, regain health, and prepare for the upcoming season during the remaining preseason games.

While questioning the team's decisions at running back, linebacker, and kicker is valid, the true impact will only be evident once the regular season commences.
