Native Group Urges Commanders: Restore Team Name 'Redskins'.

A Native American group urges the Washington Commanders to revert to the name "Redskins" from their Boston days in 1933.

The Native American Guardian Association (NAGA) rallies supporters to sign a petition aiming to #ReclaimTheName 'Redskins.'

Over 80,000 individuals have already endorsed the NAGA petition, which seeks to preserve history and counter cancel culture.

The petition highlights the Native American contribution to America's founding principles, emphasizing unity beyond political divides.

NAGA stands up for both preserving American history and safeguarding the civil liberties of all citizens.

A letter from NAGA formally requests Commanders' leadership to restore their relationship with the Native American community by adopting the name 'Redskins.'

The letter asserts that erasing the name 'Redskins' contradicts the organization's commitment to Constitutional rights and inclusivity.

Former owner Daniel Snyder changed the team's name in 2020, citing distractions and embracing inclusivity amid racial unrest.

The Commanders' name change to "Washington Football Team" and then "Commanders" took place in 2022.

With new owner Josh Harris, the Commanders might await the opportunity for rebranding, as stipulated by a five-year rule.
