The Mega Millions website reported that the estimated lottery prize was $ 465 million with a cash option of $ 250.4 million.
The most recent jackpot winner was an Illinois lottery player who took home $1.337 billion on July 29, the third-largest lottery prize in US history.
Lottery winners in New Jersey had to be named until recently, but after Gov. Phil Murphy signed a new law, they will be able to maintain their anonymity.
